Africa has changed a lot from 1955 through 1975. A lot of areas ion Africa gained independence. One of those countries was the Belgian Congo now known as Zaire. This was very serious because Belgium got copper and rubber from there. Patrice Lumumba eventually became prime minister of the Belgian Congo when Belgium grant them independence. Moise Tshombe then declared independance to the south eastern province of Katanga. There was also Jomo Kenyetta. He tried to unite some parts of Africa.
